Middle School Exploratory Day

On Friday, February 19, Middle School students took a break from their regular classes and chose different courses.

Exploratory Day courses included scrapbooking, kickboxing, broomball, cross-country skiing, French crepe making, using Flip cameras, and making guacamole/quesadillas.  Also offered: astronomy, decorating scarves, pampering your puppy, tips on how to babysit, Chinese cooking, cup-stacking and stamping.

Exploratory Day is a way to encourage students to try something new. This day also encourages getting to know students from different grade levels, as eighth grade students had the opportunity to take courses with the seventh and sixth graders.

Thank you to all of the Middle School teachers who participated, and a special thanks to Marjie Blevins, Barb Davis, Tracy Joyce and Peter Sandstrom for donating their time and talent to our Middle School students.

Hopefully, students chose an activity or hobby they had never tried and ended up loving it. Who knows, maybe some even discovered a life-long hobby.

"If something troubles you...humble yourself gently before God, and try to bring your mind into a quiet attitude. Say to yourself: 'Well, I have made a false step, now I must go more carefully and watchfully."
